What you would learn in Practical Linux Command Line 2.0 course?
You're learning to utilize the Linux command line, but are you confused?
Perhaps you're a Linux user and are looking to refresh your knowledge of the basic concepts?
Do you like learning through doing, using teaching materials based on real-life experiences? Then this Linux Command Line Course 2.0 is for those of you.
You don't need to be knowledgeable about Linux to begin, and I'll start with zero and provide you with the steps to install the Linux OS on a virtual machine if you do not have access to a Linux machine.
This course can be used on all Linux operating systems: Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS, Fedora, and... macOS! The truth is that MacOS has its roots in Linux. The fundamental principles are the same across every Linux version, with perhaps some minor different commands, which I'll explain.
- Why is this course?
Learning how to use the Linux command line is very confusing. I experienced this on my own when I was first introduced to Linux classes in the classroom. I was unable to grasp the concept, and I didn't get the idea of making use of all these complex commands to finish the exercises which I didn't intend to use in my daily life.
At first, I was confused, and a bit demotivated about it. However, after a few professional encounters (web/mobile development and server administration and automation and robotics), I began to gain a solid grasp of the Linux terminal. More important, I began to understand the reasons I should use it and also why it's incredibly robust. When I run a Linux OS, I take out all the graphical tools and use the terminal to access everything.
This is why I've poured all my years of Linux knowledge into this course, emphasizing understanding the process and the reasons behind it in the first place. It's basically about what was missing in my knowledge.
I aim to help you build an excellent Linux command line foundation fast and in a matter of hours. You may also avoid confusion for months or years before "getting it."
It is a Linux command line base that will assist you in all things IT related to software or web development, Data science, machine learning, robotics, and system administration, among others. This is the foundation that will allow you to move in any other direction.
Many things appear to be fancy but will waste your time, especially once you first begin. Therefore, I'm going to show you the techniques I utilize personally. You don't need to know 150 commands before you can begin. With just a handful of commands and a solid understanding of the subject and the basics, you'll get many things done.
What will you be learning/doing in this class?
