What you would learn in Developing in DroneKit with Python course?
In this class, you'll discover the basics of developing UAV-oriented software. We'll use a Python-based API that's called DroneKit from 3D Robotics. To help you avoid a lot of trouble, We'll also use an actual vehicle to demonstrate purposes, dubbed SITL, also known as Software within The Loop. This way, you don't need to purchase a drone if you're not yet ready or want to explore and test an idea.
To help you master the fundamentals to get you started, we'll address the following issues:
What is the best way to connect your car and launch a Python script?
Which way do you go about reading the set, and keeping track of the state of your vehicle and set-up information?
How can you control the drone's position?
How can you communicate commands to drones using MAVLink messages?
How can you operate an autonomous drone?
In addition, we'll go over two examples of use cases for drone security and drone delivery.
We'll assume you're familiar with Python and a few UAV development tools, such as ArduPilot and MAVLink. If you're not familiar with these tools, don't fret. You'll be able to follow. This course is designed for those who are interested in creating UAV-based applications as well as testing and operating a UAV before buying one.
All slides, scripts, and other reference materials will be accessible for download and usage.
