What you would learn in Secure Coding course?
In this class, we'll look at the process of performing DevOps safely and focusing on deployment. We'll review the fundamental security concepts, discuss the ways they can be applied to DevOps specifically, and look into a range of nightmare stories from my professional career and other experiences. When you're done with this course, you'll know what you should be asking and how to find practical solutions regarding whether your systems are secure.
The first topic we'll cover is authentication and authorization. Then we'll discuss the concept of least privilege, which is the basis of all security, data, and others. We'll explore ways to set up a secure low-level communication path and examine what that means for DevOps. We'll discuss the importance of having a secure workplace from both an electronic information perspective as well as from the often overlooked physical security aspect.
We'll discuss how to build securely and what we refer to as secure builds, and then we'll discuss how to deploy them securely and how we can secure the infrastructure we use. We'll conclude with a discussion about how you can ensure security is visible within your company and how to make information that typically is hidden away in log files easily accessible and searchable for your company.
