What you would learn in Write better code: 20 code smells and how to get rid of them course?
The art of software development goes beyond writing code. The code we create should not only be able to perform its intended purpose. However, it should also be simple for us to keep, extend and alter. If our code isn't properly designed, it begins to display myriad signs known as smells of code. We must be aware of these issues and identify the root cause whenever we find poor code.
To help you develop this understanding, This course will help you understand the fundamental principles of creating and implementing systems that conform to the best practices in programming. The course is drawn from my experience from my many years of programming experience and numerous books and other resources compiled by experienced developers working in the field.
The first step is to cover the four essential principles in software development that include: Information Hiding Encapsulation, Abstraction, and Polymorphism. We will then go over the five fundamental principles of the SOLID model: the principle of Single Responsibility, the principle of Open-Close, the Liskov Substitution principle, the Principle of Interface Segregation, and the dependence Inversion principle.
After we've covered these rules for writing more efficient code, it is time to can take more in-depth into 20 different code smells and the principles they break, and the various ways to correct the problem.
After this course, you'll be armed with an understanding of the fundamentals of quality software design, but an understanding of how to think about the design of your software and ways to improve it.
Content of the Course:
- Utilize the fundamentals for a good design of the software. This includes encapsulation, abstraction, and polymorphism, among others.
- Learn what are the SOLID concepts of Software Engineering and learn how you can apply them to design better software
- Develop practical skills to enhance the quality and design of
- Learn to avoid the most frequent errors that can be a result of Object Oriented Programming
