What you would learn in Embedded IR Remote Control with NEC Protocol course?
This course will teach you how to create bare-metal drivers and libraries that allow users to control their embedded devices with IR remotes. In essence, you'll be capable of controlling your embedded device with any remote control at home.
If this is something you'd like to add to your skills in embedded, go through the Embedded IR Remote Control with NEC Protocol course.
That being said, I'll tell you...
What exactly are you getting
The course is divided into four main sections.
First Section
The first part is theoretical. In this section, we are taught more about IR remote controller modulation, encoder theory, and the structure and characteristics of NEC. NEC protocol. Here we will discuss aspects such as
Amplitude Shift Keying (ASK) modulation and Frequency Shift Modulation (FSK)
Encoding of Pulse Position
Encoding of Pulse Width
Pulse Distancing Encoding
Frame Format is part of the NEC protocol.
Second Section
In the second part, we will develop all the divers needed to assist us in debugging and implementing certain real-world programs once we have completed all program components. In this section, we will develop.
A Timebase to assist us in creating exact delays
An ADC driver that can help us analyze sensor data when an appropriate key is hit to the IR Remote control
A UART driver that allows us to print out information to debug
A GPIO driver that turns on the light when the IR Remote control hits a certain key
Third Section
In the final section, we will create the drivers and libraries to connect the IR receiver with our microcontroller and decode received pulses. Here we will design
A driver for interrupts that can be externally connected to detect edge changes in the IR receiver's pin.
A timer driver that measures the pulse length
Then we will develop the library to decode the pulses received by the IR receiver fully.
Final Section
When all system drivers and libraries are in place, we can begin to develop real-world applications.
We will develop a firmware application to turn on the light by pressing a key in the remote controls.
We are planning to develop a software application that will display and sample sensor information based on the press of a key.
We are planning to develop software that will display the time according to the type of pressed key.
We will develop software that will display the key pressed on any remote controller we have at home. The reason it will work is that the majority of remote controls use NEC protocol. NEC protocol.
As always, no copy/paste. Each line of code is written entirely from scratch.
