What you would learn in Build Private Chat App with React and Firebase version 9 course?
In this class, we'll create a chat application for private use using React and Firebase. We will be using firebase SDK version 9.
There are some breaking changes in the firebase version 9 since it is based on the modular approach.
We will make use of:
The Firebase authentication
to authenticate users within our app (register or log in)
to save user messages and information
to save images
Information About Project
The first user must register an account or log in. Once authenticated, they will be directed to the chat page. We will also allow the user to upload a photo to the firebase storage, which can create a user's avatar.
On the chat page on chat page, we will display a complete list of registered users. If we click on a user that we are capable of starting a conversation with that user. Users can also send an image via text messages.
We are also working to inform users if they are on the internet or not. If there are any new messages, we'll display a notification or indicator. If users had previous conversations with users, they could see the latest message received or sent.
Suppose you are familiar with the basics of react using hooks and would like to learn to work with authentication using firebase, firestore database, and firebase storage. In that case, this course is perfect for you.
