What you would learn in Nightwatch.js Web Application Test Automation course?
Automating testing for web applications should not be difficult!
In this class, I will guide students through steps to develop front-end web automated tests for your application by using Nightwatch.js. We will be using version 1.7 of Nightwatch.js for this course.
Together, we'll write scripts to automate the testing of front-end software. More than 5 minutes of interactivity, including three challenges exercises.
What will we cover:
The basics of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Installing Nightwatch.js
Writing tests that include:
Interact with elements
Validate the data and verify the existence of elements
Validate and navigate to the browser level properties
Alerts
Validation using the use of verify, assert and expect
Page object model
Tagging and selecting the tests to run
What's a front-end test for web-based application automation?
"The "front-end" refers to the user interface. For websites, the website. Everything you can view as well as interact with is a part of the "front-end.
The front-end is automated to recreate the experience of users using the app. With automation, we can pretend to be the user to verify that the site is functioning according to plan.
How do I learn to succeed in this program?
This course is intended to help engineers at the beginning of their careers. I will go over all the information you require to start your journey to success as a tester automation engineer.
However, here are some tips that are sure to help you along the way:
Experience using manual testing of web-based applications
A good Javascript knowledge (I will briefly go over the most critical aspects of this course)
Excellent HTML as well as CSS knowledge (I will briefly go over the essential elements for this course)
The most crucial aspect of succeeding is to be able to work. Do not skip the videos unless you are sure you understand the content. You must be coding precisely like me in each step of the process.
What is the reason we need front-end automation of tests?
Automation of tests of all kinds is in great demand. The manual test engineer is quickly approaching an end.
Companies are looking to provide code more often and more quickly.
What is that?
The development process to create tests, release, and build code is getting shorter. A continuous delivery cycle has teams forced to integrate automation into all aspects of their process.
The main elements of the process that have to be automated include:
- Build
- Release
Unit Testing
Regression Testing
is the QA department responsible for testing integration.
One of the time-consuming aspects of the development cycle is regression testing.
Teams work for hours or even days testing features they have previously tested thousands of times.
Why?
The codebase's changes can result in negative consequences for other features. It is not uncommon for things to break.
Don't assume that the code will always work!
To this end, we create automated tests.
