What you would learn in ASP.NET 6.0 - Build Hands-On Web Projects course?
Hello, I'm Kaushik Roy Chowdhury. I'm certified as a Microsoft Certified Professional and hold an MA in Computer Science from Auckland University of Technology (AUT), New Zealand.
I've worked in software development throughout New Zealand with some eminent companies on different contracts and permanent assignments.
Are you an emotional software developer or a keen student of software with interest in learning about new technology products that are cutting-edge and are looking to figure out the way to navigate this ever-changing and innovative web framework? This course will enable you to work with ASP.NET Core 3.1 professionally to develop web applications with all three templates for projects that include Pages with Razor, Web API, and MVC.
When we first began making this course, ASP.NET Core 3.1 was the most current and most stable version of the framework that is the basis of this course. But, Microsoft has recently released the ASP.NET 6.0 at the .NET conference at the beginning of November 2021. To be in the same spirit as this release, I have explained how to migrate the principle undertaking in my course Building the Web API and using it using an MVC Client, from ASP.NET Core 3.1 to ASP.NET 6.0, So I've changed the name of the course to ensure that it is in sync with the most recent version.
All other projects can be moved to ASP.NET 6.0 in the same way. The two video tutorials on migration demonstrate that migration is simple.
The course starts to walk through the student's creation of some essential ASP.NET Core concepts through coding examples of projects using Visual Studio 2019.
The students can then design the Razor app task list using an in-memory list. The application is developed using MVC concepts to examine comparisons between both technologies.
After that, the main point of this course comes with the real-world project, which spans two sessions and multiple talks. The first segment demonstrates the creation of a web API built in stages, with interactive coding and explanation. This Web API makes use of ADOdotNET technology as well as SQL Server database with Stored Procedures. Entity framework hasn't been utilized because of two primary reasons: There is a wealth of articles and courses that demonstrate the benefits of the use of Entity Framework Core (EF Core) on the market. Second, ADO technology is what EF Core is built upon and has proven to be excellent in performance. Web API Web API has a Serilog NuGet package built-in for written error logs within a text file. This project follows the repository pattern that is the best practice for Web development.
The second part (part) describes the usage of the Web API by an ASP.NET Core 3.1 MVC application that performs CRUD-related operations (as the front-end). The application stores and retrieves data from the database utilized to access this Web API, thereby extending the idea of learners consuming public APIs using an in-house MVC application.
The entire course comes with many tasks, quizzes, and a practice test distributed across the sections for self-assessment of the learning.
Samples of code that can be downloaded and links to free resources are provided whenever needed.
Who is this course intended for:
- Any level of developer, a beginning-intermediate senior who has some knowledge of C# (1 year or longer) and experience working with the aspnet platform.
- Anyone studying software engineering is willing to understand this latest web framework developed by Microsoft.
- Learners who wish to transition from a Java/C background to ++ pursue personal or professional growth.
Course Content:
- Students will learn everything essential to the core ASPNET 3.1 framework. They will also learn about middleware, model-binding, and state management.
- Practical application for hands-on use with Razor webpages and MVC templates
- Students will be taught the most challenging subject matter of developing their web API that uses the SQL database to perform CRUD operations.
- They will learn how to build their client MVC application in that same Visual Studio solution to consume the API developed in the previous section.
- Students will be taught about the technology of adodotnet and how to use stored procedures within a database to perform the CRUD operation.
